A chart to remember 2011 by. According to the Guttmacher Institute, 2011 proved a banner year for passing abortion restrictions into law in the United States. These restrictions included everything from attacking insurance coverage to requiring women to go through ultrasounds and waiting periods.

Americans in prison

Hm, I wonder if we can spot a pivot point here?
On October 27, 1970, the Nixon administration implemented the Comprehensive Drug Abuse Prevention and Control Act of 1970.
In 1973, the Drug Enforcement Administration was created to replace the Bureau of Narcotics and Dangerous Drugs.
As early as 1982, Vice President George H.W. Bush and his aides began pushing for the involvement of the CIA and U.S. military in drug interdiction efforts.

What this chart shows is clearly the U.S. policy/war on drugs is only creating other problems. We need to stop using harsh prison punishments as an incentive because clearly this method doesn’t work, it just fills up more prisons that cost taxpayers and ignore the real problem.
